[Project Introduction]
Shandong Dongying Xuelian Grand Theater is one of the large theaters in Shandong Province, located at 600 Shengli Street, Dongying City, on the south side of Qingfeng Lake. The design of the Grand Theater is inspired by the high-altitude snow lotus, which echoes the snow lotus flowers of Bayangela Mountain at the source of the Yellow River. It brings the time and space of the water tail at the source of the Yellow River closer, expressing the memory and continuation of natural history and culture. The superior geographical location, coupled with the elegant snow lotus shape, has made the Grand Theater one of the most charming iconic buildings in the Yellow River Basin. It has become an important place to promote high art, improve people's cultural literacy, promote domestic and international cultural exchanges, and facilitate the integration of Dongying with international culture.
The Xuelian Grand Theater is approximately 560 meters long from east to west and 530 meters long from north to south, with a total land area of 29.724 hectares, a total construction area of 45094 square meters, and a green area of 181600 square meters, including a water surface area of 58700 square meters, a building height of 46.25 meters, and a road square area of 83500 square meters. It has 923 parking spaces for motor vehicles, including 913 for small buses (including 4 accessible parking spaces and 10 for large buses). The main body of the Grand Theater is on the first floor, with 6 partial floors. The auditorium has about 1340 seats, and the multifunctional hall has about 400 seats. It can meet various performance needs such as large-scale opera, dance drama, ballet, symphony, and large-scale comprehensive cultural performances. At the same time, it has the function of providing training, meetings, and other services for performance teams, as well as catering, entertainment, sightseeing, and other services for the audience and tourists.
Dongying Xuelian Grand Theater officially opened in September 2014 and is operated and managed by Dongying Cultural Tourism and Sports Development Group. Over the course of more than six years, Xuelian Grand Theater has creatively opened up a new path of operation, from importing only plays, to making its own plays, and then going on tours abroad: 'Please come in, go out, and come alive'.
Please come in: Bring in outstanding performances from both domestic and international sources, and offer a high-quality cultural feast to the citizens of Dongying.
Xuelian Grand Theater has always taken it as its responsibility to improve the artistic cultivation of Dongying citizens and enhance the artistic atmosphere of Dongying, insisting on introducing high-quality and excellent plays. It covers various art forms such as symphony, traditional Chinese music, Beijing opera, song and dance, musical theater, drama, cross-talk, concerts, etc., with an average attendance rate of over 80%. In the process of introducing theatrical productions, Xuelian Grand Theater not only provides enthusiastic services for performance groups and audiences, but also attaches great importance to conducting art tours and art popularization, guiding audiences to watch performances in a civilized manner, bringing citizens a highly enjoyable cultural feast, and greatly enriching their spiritual and cultural life. In addition, the Grand Theatre adheres to the path of populism and implements low ticket prices. All excellent performance programs are guaranteed to have low ticket prices below 50 yuan, with some tickets even as low as 8.5 yuan, allowing all audiences to "afford" and "enter" and enjoy the achievements of urban spiritual civilization construction.
Going global: "Integration of theaters and troupes" to create high-quality self-produced dramas, making Dongying a true cultural oasis.
The Grand Theater boldly attempted to create its own self composed and self performed route, achieving a perfect combination of "theater troupe integration". Since 2015, with the Snow Lotus Art Troupe as the team, they have successfully arranged "The Swan at the Yellow River Mouth" and "Aladdin"
